About ACG

Customers have often speculated about our name, ACG. 
Many have guessed that it’s taken from the acronym for Automatic
Code Generation, a tool that allows programmers to create control and
calculation programs graphically.   Because that ACG is an excellent
starting point for many software projects, the assumption is a logical one.

One customer guessed that ACG was an acronym for Advanced
Computer Gurus – a suitable moniker, he thought, for a firm with our
skill sets. Since the company was purchased by Allyn Conway in 1992,
several have speculated the name was an acronym for Allyn Conway Group.

In fact, ACG is not an acronym, but a name which has evolved since the
company was founded in 1984.  The firm that is now ACG had its roots in
computer hardware.  Accounting software, and HRIS software were
added in the late 1980s.  Today, ACG is the "old man on the block" in the
development of innovative, practical solutions for business applications.
